Peter Louis Van Dijk is a composer of choral works including 'Horizons' (Kings Singers), 'iinyembezi' (Signum Quartet, Germany); opera including Out of Time and Mandela Trilogy; ballet and choral-orchestral works like The Selfish Giant. He has several CD’s to his credit and is published by OUP, Hal Leonard, Alliance, Accolade Musikverlag, Prestige and Marco Polo. Van Dijk has conducted most major South African orchestras as well as the CYSO, Chicago, and members of the Austin Symphony at Texas State University. He was senior lecturer in Composition and Theory at Rhodes University and taught Composition and Orchestration at the Nelson Mandela University. While Van Dijk has written the lyrics of most of his works for orchestra and voice, he published his first poetry volume Icarus Lickerus in 2019.
